A public house on Fountain Square
Marigold is an English-style public house in The Foundry, a half block off Fountain Square, and the most unexpected room in the group. The premise is simple and holds up: the warmth and format of a British pub, with the food doing what British food has actually done for a century — leaning hard on Indian cooking and being better for it.
So the menu runs both directions at once. There are the things a pub is obliged to get right, and there are curries, chaat, and tandoor plates built with the spicing turned up rather than dialled back for the room. It reads as two ideas on paper and eats as one.
The bar leans gin, which is the other reason to come. Marigold worked with Cincinnati Distilling on a bespoke gin made for this room specifically, and it anchors a list that treats a gin and tonic as something worth building properly rather than pouring. Beer is kept honestly, and there is enough on the list to spend an evening without repeating.
The location does a lot of work. It is walking distance from the Aronoff and from most of downtown's offices and hotels, which makes it a dependable pre-show table and an easy after-work room. Seats fill early on weekends; walk-ins are welcome and are how most of the room works. Menus and ordering live on the Marigold site; this page is here to get you in the door.
